Wrapping up the first season of The Transformers, we are introduced to 2 new Decepticon teams. Believe it or not, in “Plague of the Insecticons,” we are introduced to the Insecticons. And in “Heavy Metal War,” the Constructicons make their debut, as well as the first Transformers Combiner, Devastator.

Today, on The Transformers, the Autobots learn about dinosaurs, and decide it would be a good idea to build their own in “S.O.S. Dinobots.” Also, remember when I said Skyfire would not return in Season 1? Well, it turns out he returns in the 2nd episode when Megatron creates a super powerful cannon, and the Autobots must stop him in “Fire On the Mountain.”

Classic Episode 05 — Geeking on The Transformers: The Movie (1986)

One last word on Transformers before we move on to other topics. This time out I am joined by Transformer fan supreme Fanboyimus Prime, author of a multi-chapter Transformers/Gundam SEED crossover fan-fic, and Jon Wilson, fellow podcast host. Together, the three of us watch one of the most beloved pieces of Transformers history, the 1986 animated feature “Transformers: The Movie.” So pop in your 20th Anniversary DVD, sit back and enjoy the show. And stick around afterwards for a fun little sound clip I found of Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime and Ironhide) doing his impressions of Frank Welker’s Megatron.
