Its time for episode 11, where we take a look at the new JLA taking on The Key. Its a story full of alternate realities, villain monologuing, and Green Arrow taking on a JLA level villain almost entirely on his own.
It's the Justice League versus an invasion from Heaven as we take a look at JLA issues 6 and 7. Plus, in an unfortunately rare occurance, listener feedback! Woo-hoo!
Are you ready for some most excellent cartoon memories? Well then have I got the show for you. Join me as we hop in the TARDIS and head back to the 1980s to take a look at the great cartoons from this fun decade
The Justice League is back, and this time they've got help. In JLA #5, the JLA begin a recruitment drive and their first new member is Tomorrow Woman, who could be their downfall. Then we get to witness the secret origin of the new JLA, since apparently the Midsummers Nightmare mini-series doesn't count as the origin. Plus, we get to witness the teams' first reactions to Superman's new powers, and a day in the life of Martian Manhunter.
One last word on Transformers before we move on to other topics. This time out I am joined by Transformer fan supreme Fanboyimus Prime, author of a multi-chapter Transformers/Gundam SEED crossover fan-fic, and Jon Wilson, fellow podcast host. Together, the three of us watch one of the most beloved pieces of Transformers history, the 1986 animated feature “Transformers: The Movie.” So pop in your 20th Anniversary DVD, sit back and enjoy the show. And stick around afterwards for a fun little sound clip I found of Peter Cullen (the voice of Optimus Prime and Ironhide) doing his impressions of Frank Welker's Megatron.
It's the first episode of the month, which means its time to talk comics. So to start things off, were going to start looking at Grant Morrison's JLA. But, before he started his run, there was a little mini-series that was used to set things up. So return with me back to the summer of 1996 and experience the birth of the new JLA.
